Minutes of the Regular Baptist Association called Mount Pleasant meetings (1857-1858), minutes of the twelfth annual meeting of the Missouri Valley District of Regular Predestinarian Baptists held with the Soldier River Church of Monona County, records from the New Bethel Regular Baptist Church of Polk County (1850-1880). Folder 2. Letters, certifications, sermons, newspaper clippings, various membership lists, a discourse delivered in 1893 at Whitten, Iowa by the Rev. J.C. Magee, sermons by C.H. Spurgeon, the president's message to the Iowa Baptist state convention in 1913, and a Thanksgiving Day (1893) sermon by G.J. Johnson in Auburn Park, Ill. Folder 3. Membership list from the Marshalltown Baptist Church (1863-1931). The list includes names, dates received and dates dismissed.

Charles Haddon Spurgeon, born in 1834, was a Baptist minister in Great Britain. He was famous for his preaching skills and, from the time he was a young man, attracted thousands of people to hear his sermons. A prolific author, Spurgeon's published sermons were very popular. He held strict Calvinistic views and, therefore, alienated himself from some Baptist ministers. Despite his controversial views, he remained a popular speaker.
